Watches with the poly casebacks comprise a very small proportion of the first execution watches - definitely less than 5%. Most have the round caseback, with or without a "step" in it.

I'm with you on the markers - I like the second execution markers with the inserts, but there is something about the simplicity of the plain polished markers that just appeals a bit more to me. Plus I think the tachy scales are nicer on first execution Tachys:

Then again, first execution Carrera means an unsigned crown most of the time and the signed ones are definitely more appealing, so it is a bit swings and roundabouts.
