Contest: Show Hodinkee Your Siffert!!

Poor, poor Ben. [A Yiddish-speaking grandmother might say, "nebach", meaning somewhere between sad and pitiful.] On the very same day that he was quoted and shown in both the print and online editions of The New York Times, he was brutally attacked on this discussion forum, for showing his Siffert and Viceroy chronographs on [nasty looking] multi-colored NATO straps. [bottom photo]

He has re-strapped the Siffert today, onto a plain blue NATO strap, but let's see whether we can do better. So here is the contest: Over the next week (say, by noon, Atlanta time, next Friday, the 15th], show Ben, Eric and the rest of the Hodinkee crew exactly how your Siffert should be strapped [or braceleted]? Leather or cloth? Black, blue or white? Simple or exotic?

This contest is being announced on the fly, with no thought or planning. I have no idea how we will determine the winner . . . maybe Ben or Eric will do the judging honors? Maybe readers will comment and a consensus will emerge? Perhaps the DeVos boys will make the selection. The one thing I know: The winner will receive the customary two pounds of M&Ms, plain or peanut!! Of course, the real prize will be showing the Hodinkee guys just how great a Siffert can look!!

So get out the Siffert and your camera, and show Ben how it's done!!

Jeff
