I agree Ron, but there are people out there who see it as a business. A valid viewpoint too, but it does mean their perspectives will sometimes clash with those of the afficionado collector. And there are also people who can juggle both, having a nice personal collection whilst also having a business selling the watches - Jasper and Nic spring to mind.

For me, the boxes passed a threshold once they went past €100 and now it's just getting a bit silly. Especially as some of the dearest boxes end up married to a watch and sold as NOS and complete for more than the combined individual cost.

As Alex put it, for this sort of money I would rather have a watch than a box.
