Some of the differences are obvious

I have a couple of photo's here of two of my own boxes, one automatic & one manual.

It does seem to me that the suspect box sold through eBay Italy recently has a different chequered stripe pattern. It is placed higher up (closer to the split in the box) and it carries a fine white stripe on the outer edges. Its a shame that the eBay seller deleted their other photo's as the inner view of the box showed far more differences than my own boxes. My own conclusion was that the box was at the very least doctored and at worst an out right fake. Lets hope we dont see this creeping into our collecting world.
As is the case when we are looking to buy our watches, research intensely before you part with any money.
Cheers - Darren
