Re: New Arrival - The watch that started my Heuer Obsession

Lanny,

I'm so happy that it is now in the hands of someone who truly appreciates it, and we can't wait to see a photo of the grouping!

The watch actually came from the drawer of a man from Lake Charles, Louisiana, a private pilot and heavy-duty Shriner after he passed last year. It was undoubtedly purchased locally and worn infrequently. That was his way, to buy nice items but not really put them to heavy use.

When I came upon the watch, it did not keep time well, and folks on OTD advised that it would need a good service, so off it went to Hovig's in downtown Los Angeles. They performed a movement overhaul and main spring replacement. They did not do anything to the externals...no buffing, no polishing, no anything. 3 weeks or so passed as they waited for a part to arrive from Switzerland.

Finally, it came back and I selfishly wore it for a few days myself before sending it to Lanny.

Congratulations!

Joe
