Strap Success #1 *PIC*

Some of you may remember the difficulties I experienced attaching a vintage strap on my late Skipper 15640. The holes for the spring bars in this 11063 like case are so close to sharp case edges between the lugs that the strap gets easily distressed. I managed to solve the problem by using rather thin bars (1.3 mm instead of 1.9 mm, providing 0.3 mm more space) and by manually tweaking and forming the strap ends. I also had to repair the damaged spots. The only disadvantage: I cannot place the watch flat on a surface, the strap parts must remain folded downside.

I'm really happy with this dark red strap. I like it much more than the metal bracelet I got with the watch.

Thanks to all who helped me on this forum and behind the scenes.

Cheers,

Mick
