Re: SCAN REQUEST: My newest Wakemann

: Boy, oh, boy. Mike the Mailman(no lie)showed up
: today with my latest ebay gem. I really
: bought this because I had never seen
: anything like it in any watch line. It is in
: awesome condition, colors very bright, and I
: just love the complexity of the dial setup.

: Now the quiz: On the top of the dial at 12,
: there is the word "REGATE" with 15
: right below that, then decending numbers 10,
: 5, 0 going clockwise to the 3 o'clock
: position. What's this for? My guess, being a
: sailor, is a countdown timer for race
: starts. Any other guesses?

: PS. Next time I wll try to get the big hand off
: the "W". Most of my shots I try to
: get the hands away from the subdials and any
: writing. Something to remember yourself when
: composing.
Very nice chrono there. You are correct on the use of the dial. These have very nice movements that can be regulated to be spot on.
I have this movment in meny watches with 17 j. and 21 j. I have maybe 4 or 5 of this very 1 some NOS in gold and 1 in a solid S.Steel case most are s.s. only on the back.
But what you have on yours I have NEVER seen is the fluted pushers! If its not original who cares there better! Very nice & a true perpetual date watch.
Timer hands are very crisp color. this watch has not seen to much sun.

Be very carfule if you feel like a light polish is in order as most of these cases where not all S. S.
and the sharp edges will show brass in a second.
Enjoy
Peter
