Re: Came upon a (mostly) complete Cal. 12 I'd like to restor

I think it won't matter which case you put it in... the Viceroy that came on the 1163 had the Calibre 12 movement and then there were 11630s with the same dial and movement... the question comes down to whether you want the big case 11630 or the smaller 1163.

: Hello all,
: I've been following the discussions here for quite a while and I
: have to say, I'm enjoying it immensely. I am grateful for the
: wealth of knowledge shared by so many of you.

: With that said, I came across a complete Cal. 12 movement, which
: appears to be missing a chrono seconds hand . . . oh, and the
: whole case. Rather than relegate the movement to a parts bin,
: I'd like to see what I can do to restore it to its former glory.
: I don't want to make it into some sort of random parts watch,
: but instead I'd like to make it as true to its origin as I can.
: After reading the Comparison of Two Viceroys , I imagine
: there's no way to tell, by the movement and dial alone, whether
: it once lived in a 1163 V or 11630 case. Is this a correct
: assumption?

: If you were in my position, what would be your approach? Thanks for
: any and all advice.

: Cheers.
: J

: Apologies for the bad photos. They were provided by the seller.
