Aside from recommendations by someone who knows the difference between a good watchmaker and a battery changer, the only way to find out if someone has any skills is to try. And that could spell disaster.

I can't even get to the point of trying as I refuse to hand over my watches to people who treat me like I'm a blithering idiot.

If anyone has a recommendation for a trustworthy watchmaker on Long Island, please let me know.
