Re: Question for the experts
In Response To: Question for the experts ()

Stewart, we're talking about 1972 story.
There was a passage from 1163 to 11630.
For me there was a lot of "test watch" from 240 to 245xxx serial.
Jack Heuer told me that they test a lot of solutions in that period, as you can reed in the full interview in next OM Magazine issue.
So we can find 1163P with 2 different dials and 2 different handset, 1163 OB with 2 different handset and, don't forget, bezel with or without dot.

For me, looking these examples on my hands, all these watches can be considered "correct" when we talk about 240-245xxx transitional range.
IMHO, from 243 to 245xxx we can find on 1163 the 11630's handset.

: There seems to be a little confusion with these models.

: There are some OB's with decomp inserts, that are referred to as
: 1163P's.
: Is this correct?

: I only ask, as the 1163P in the catalogue (mis-labelled in the
: catalogue as 11630P) doesn't have an OB dial, it has the dial
: from a 11630P.

: So, are the OB's with decomp bezels technically incorrect? Would it
: be true to say they aren't 1163P's, they are simply OB's with a
: decomp insert?

: Just to sum up:

: 1163 OB T or MH - Known model
: 1163 P, with lume applied non metal hr markers, with decomp,
: mis-labelled 11630P in catalogues
: 1163 OB with decomp insert - ?? Simply a OB with 'incorrect' insert
: & called 1163P by mistake?

: Cheers
: Stewart
