Scariest Words / Limited Edition Fakes ? ? ?
In Response To: Be Careful ()

"Only 500 of Each Model Will Be Produced! Comes with a cloned Rolex movement -- 3131, 3135, 3156, 3186, 3187 Rolex Caliber Movements!

Even if a jeweler opens it will be difficult to detect since this is a CLONE of the Genuine Rolex Movement!

These were produced with a genuine watch completely dissected 1:1 Dimensions and Case Profile."

And is it correct that the fake is limited to 500 pieces? Let's see . . . 500 watches times $1,250 = $625,000 . . . well worth it for the crooks!!

: This morning one of my usual watch sources called me up with a new
: Rolex Milgauss. He said it had its original box but not the
: registration card. I said I would come look.

: When I got there the watch looked beautiful...hardly a scratch. It
: had the lazered inner bezel, the crystal glowed green, it had
: the unique new Milgauss clasp and the bracelet was immaculately
: machined. When I got out my Rolex wrench to remove the back he
: told me that his watchmaker, who I have known for a long time
: had already looked at the movement and that it had the right
: numbers etc. Luckily I insisted on opening it anyway. When the
: back came off the watch had the properly marked inner Milgauss
: back...hopeful. When I opened the inner back the watch had the
: arch shaped freesprung Rolex bridge and was marked with the
: appropriate 3131 Milgauss caliber movement with its two red
: reversing wheels.

: I thought to myself...OK, this looks like the real deal....but
: something just seemed a little weird. So, I picked up my iPhone
: and googled Rolex 3131 movement pictures. I clicked on the photo
: that looked like the movement which was in the watch in my hand
: and it came up with a Rolex Clone site

: I studied the subtle differences between the real 3131 and the
: clone. As good as the whole watch was...it was a fake.

: Read what it says on the bestclones site. Talk about fraud. I have
: been buying Rolex watches for almost 30 years and this one
: almost fooled me.

: What a world we live in.
