wow -- I was expecting the model number to start with a "5" or even an "8" or a "D". the fact that you are using a Nikon 3100 confirms several things:

• we don't need loads of pixels for what we are shooting / displaying on computer screens. actually, 1.0 megapixel will usually be sufficient.

• lighting is the key factor in how pretty / accurate these shots are.

• macro is important -- some cameras have it; some cameras don't.

• you can get great photos of watches with a $200 camera, if you pay good attention to the lighting, set-up, etc.
