These No-Names are Genuine
In Response To: Re: ebay again ()

while it is difficult to comment on this authenticity of this specific watch, Heuer did produce these no-name / no-model watches in the early 1970's. Here is a page from a 1971/ 72 bruchure showing watches similar to the one offered on ebay.

They seem to suffer from the absence of a model name (Carrera, Autavia, etc.) and some collectors aren't fond of the design, but they are Heuers.

: Hi,

: Very interesting topic.

: On one hand these watches seem to be of lower
: standards than your common Heuer (at least
: aesthetically). To be frank, to my eyes they
: look so err... ugly that my initial reaction
: is "this can't be a Heuer". And
: the non signed crown reinforces this
: feeling.

: On the other hand I have seen very similar
: (identical) watches in a couple Heuer
: catalogues. So unless the catalogues were...
: fake, they are true Heuers.

: Maybe they were (designed and) manufactured by
: Monin, a subcontractor of Heuer who was
: responsible for some other models bearing
: the Heuer logo.
