If I am giving my Monaco to my good friend, Paul Gavin, doesn't it seem strange to write, "To Paul Gavin from Jeff Stein". On the other hand, someone trying to create false provenance might write it exactly this way.

The Monaco that McQueen gave to his business manager (Bill Maher) had a much more credible look, for a gift to a friend.
