Unusual Watch Posted by Phillips Watches

Here's an unusual watch posted by Phillips Watches, on Instagram -- https://instagram.com/p/7NmNcov1YH/

Caption as follows:

Photographing the catalog of our Geneva Watch Auction: TWO sale taking place on 8 November, here is a sneak peak at one lot. One of the great benefits of working at Phillips Watches is discovering examples like this vintage Heuer watch. Found in the drawer of a Swiss watchmaker, we cannot recall ever seeing such an example made by Heuer, though a similar watch made by Leonidas has been seen in a 1938 Swiss catalog page found on @on_the_dash. Measuring a substantial 38 mm in diameter, can you imagine how large a wristwatch it was when introduced in the pre–World War II era?

Case is unlike any shown in the Heuer catalogs of the 1930s, but it seems to match well with one that was used by Leonidas in the late 1930s (Reference 1505). Of course, Heuer and Leonidas had no affiliation in this era.

I will be very interested to see what others think of this watch. Jarl -- as our 1930s expert, perhaps you have an opinion? Authentic and very rare Heuer, or marriage of Heuer dial and Leonidas case, or Leonidas dial with the "Heuer" added later?
