Re: #Update On The Kenya Air Force Autavia Heuers.

Hi all Heuer collectors, I need advice and information about KAF automatic Autavias. I noticed an Autavia for sale with a white chrono seconds hand and remembered that I saw KAF Autavias in the Viceroy colours but which has white seconds hands, so, I went to have a look at the watch. Its serial number matches 3rd generation automatic Autavias, i.e. 224xxx and it has a bezel with only a triangle at 12 but no lume dot, just like examples posted by Jasper Bitter and others that I have seen. The dial has polished 5 minutes markers not numbers. Unfortunately the caseback has been polished and is blank, so if it is a KAF Autavia I will need a different method of establishing it, if possible. The person selling the watch did not have the correct tool to remove the original GF bracelet and hence I was unable to see if the model number on the case matches what the serial number suggests. I will get that information tomorrow.

I would appreciate it if members can tell me what to look out for, if indeed it is possible to establish the status of the watch without the "KAF ...." on the caseback.
