I pretty much agree with you, particularly on the box and papers which I understand the attraction, but do pretty much nothing for me.

But i do have to say, sometimes the "real" bracelet just completes the look of the watch. I felt that when I saw the photo from the 1974 catalog of clay regazzoni sitting in his ferrari wearing a silverstone with the metal strap .... when I saw that I knew I had to get that bracelet for my silverstone.
