die Monza ( say mon-sa thanks Fabrizio) was introduced in late 1975. The austrian Niki Lauda came in third at the Grand Prix of Italy in Monza. He wrote race history winning after 12 years back the crowm in Formula one for Ferrari. On the nose of the Ferrari 312 T there was the HEUER logo prominently positioned, Jack W. Heuer had bet on the right horse !
The Monza leaflet says delivered in the red racing helmet, limited edition only to celebrate the World Champion Titel of Niki Lauda for Ferrari..
Carrera inspired cases were chromeplated (the only 60 or 70is chromplated Heuer I can think of?!) or pvd coated; powered by the Caliber 15. Case reference and serial numbers engraved at the backcase together with MOnza Heuer..
Attached a few pics, the black one was preowned by Peter Delorean however never used and then after his death sold in Canada. The chrome plated one has its original helmet case.
The Monza is an absolute Racing breed watch with plenty of history!!
Is it the most undervalued Heuer what do you think ??
Cheers
Arno
