Just for your info. Just got my information emailed to me from Omega. The movement is a caliber 1400 - it is a state of the art, unique combination of mechanical and electronic technologies. The movement according to Omega doesn't require a battery, it has a rotor (osillating weight) to develope electrical charge that is transfered to a capacitor. The average life of a charge is 6 days. Just for your information.
: I've often wondered why anybody would buy a high end watch
: such as Omega in a quartz version. Anybody can make a
: watch, slap a battery in it (or kinetic now) and have a
: watch that keeps near perfect time. To me, part of the
: beauty of a high end watch is the engineering marvel of it.
: To make an extremely precise, intricate piece of machinery
: that runs on pure mechanics and is small enough to wear on
: your wrist is quite a feat!
: To use the old cliche, buying a quartz is like "kissing
: your sister".
: That's my opinion. What does everyone else think?
