Here are a couple of pictures of similar Omega f300's.


These are for sale at an asking price of $480 and $840 at Art Of Time, from whom I've borrowed these pictures. That may give some hint to what the value of your friend's watch may be *if* it could be fully restored.

That movement is 1970's quartz technology. That is the reason parts are not readily available. Had it been a mechanical one, that would not likely have been a problem.

I would question the value of spending money restoring a vintage quartz watch like that. Even if he could, then next time it needs parts, they will be even harder to get.

I'd put whatever money he would have spent restoring that one into buying a different vintage Omega to enjoy.
