Re:Both :-)

: Yes, the bezel makes the watch a really attractive choice. I couldn't afford a "100%" gold, but a bezel is a great compromise. I could probably find a full gold model used or on ebay, but I want a new watch - some day I'll leave it to my son and I don't want to leave him "someone else's" watch. This watch would be worn - not "collected". In 1958 my mother was on a church trip to Europe and bought a new 14kt gold rolex oyster non-date for my dad for $158 - she couldn't afford the band because it was another $150. That watch is, of course, still in the family and will never be sold. But, it's a non-date (I need a date) and with a nice Piget strap, is just to "formal" for everyday wear (although my dad wore it everyday and by the time I got hold of it, looked pretty much beat to heck).

But, I've also been a sailor. And although I don't actually watch the America's Cup closely, if it wasn't for a couple of brats in college, I have thought about selling the house and buying a 45' something and saying bye bye.

So, the AC concept appeals a great deal to me.

Thanks for the comments and interest.
