I know what you mean about plastic seat covers, but if I recall the plastic on my mom's sofa was very shiny. The 3-M tape is dull and if applied carefully, you really can't see it there. (The only difference you may see is the buckle looking somwhat dull compared to unprotected stainless.)
I would agree that the sofa was more comfortable without the plastic. But like my mom, I am uncomfortable seeing my stuff get needlessly scuffed up. Still, if you aren't bothered, enjoy your bracelet, scuffs and all.
