Everything said so far has merit. For myself, I chose the Seamaster 300M (black face, with the big sword hands) over the Rolex Sub and Seadweller before I ever saw the price. For me it was just a much better watch, and it also seemed that Rolexes were extremely commonplace, even if they are expensive. On top of that, a coworker had some quality and customer service issues with his GMT Master.
So, the question still remains - which one suits your taste, or just "calls out to you"? And finally, which can you afford? If you buy with the idea of how much you can resell it for, I don't think you'll be happy. Also, consider that if you have to buy used, you will probably not have a warranty to back you up. So, within your budget, just buy whichever one suits your taste, and then enjoy it.
