Re: OMEGA SEAMASTER - MEGAQUARTZ

: Sirs, I am looking for an Omega Seamaster
: "Megaquartz" from the mid 70's as
: per attached jpg. This watch was given to me
: 23 years ago as a confirmation gift, but has
: recently been stolen.

Is that a photo of the actual one stolen?

Also, it appears to simply be a QUARTZ model, not a MEGAQUARTZ. Big difference.

The one you had, while it may have sentimental value, was a fairly basic Omega model of that time, so if you find a used one today it will be pretty inexpensive. I'd say under $200 in good condition.

: I therefore turn to you for guidance regarding
: where to find such a watch and what the
: estimated price would be.

Search the various used watch dealers on the Internet. Of my favorites, the ones most likely to come near that would be artoftime.com and gilliswatches.com.

When a sentimental item is lost that is hard to replace exactly, sometimes the best thing to do is not worry about an exact match. Instead pick something else that you LIKE and mentally transfer the sentimental value to it.
