: I bought a quartz as well and sometimes feel
: like I should have gotton the auto. But then
: I think about gaining or losing about 1-2
: minutes a month (instead of 1 sec.), the
: worry of breaking it due to vibration or
: shock, and the constant resetting.... what a
: headache. I'm just not quite enough of a
: watch nut to deal with all that.
Same goes for me. I bought my SMP Quartz because of its styling and resilience. The £200 saving over the auto model was a boon, and the +/- 1 sec per month accuracy is infintely preferable to having to reset the thing every day or so. Much as I admire the craftsmanship that obviously goes into making automatic watches, that alone is not enough to outweigh the disadvantages, IMHO.
