Well, as a general rule, you should try to wear your watch for about 4 hours per day. (4 hours on, 20 hours off.) I find that works for all of mine, all brands.
I also find that my watch winder needs slightly more time than that, as it doesn't rotate very quickly.
Note: if you find that you haven't worn your watch enough during one day, leave it on at night. That'll at least tide it over for the 8 hours that you're asleep. You move so little during your sleeping hours that I find that the sleep-wear hours provide just enough energy to keep the watch moving. You should still wear your watch for about 4 hours more during the next day then.
You may have to add more or less time individually for your level of activity or a different brand, but I've found this guideline works for me.
