This is truly terrible news. I feel like my watch hobby started here with a few posts and e-mails from Derek a few years back. I don't post a great deal here anymore, but I do come back from time to time to read.
Unfortunately, I cruised in today and read the post I am replying to. Suicide has affected my family twice having lost an uncle and a very close cousin to a demise of their own choice. It is impossible to understand when it happens, and hurts more than any death you will grieve, and I can imagine worse if it is your child (no matter their age).
I pray for his wife and parents that they will eventually find peace.
