It was simply polished because it has some scratches but nothing dramatic. And the hands were relumed with radium the material which was used before in the 50's and it glows better than luminova. For extending its longevity I don't swim with it,it is out of question,I don't wear it in rainy condition. Seals for this model are almost non existing I did ask Omega and they have no more seals for this watch. Besides that I avoid everything that could damage it. I check it always with my quartz watch and the movement is very very consistent and accurate. Besides that I will service in the next 10 years.
