i also own a 2598.80.
: i am not sure on how to fix it except to
: return to the dealer as suggested; however
: as testament, the bezel on my watch does
: line up exactly. it should click on the red
: 60 second mark and everything else should
: line up also(all markers every 5
: second/minute). so it should line up.
Kenneth- Thanks so much for your response! If I may, I'd like to ask you (and any other Seamaster Prof. Chron. owner) a question about your watch. Assuming both the bezel and face are geometrically correct (ie. a straight line drawn from the 12 o'clock position to the 6 and a straight line drawn from the 3 to the 9 would form a "+" with the perpendiculars exactly 90 degrees)...assuming this, as the bezel is rotated around the face, if the bezel is off, it should be off in the same place on the face all around the dial. So, for example if the bezel's "V" is a mm off to the right of the face's 12 and the bezel's "30" is off a mm to the left of the face's 6, this variation should be maintained around the entire dial unless either the face or the bezel are not geometrically accurate. Now if this innaccuracy is found on the face I would wonder if this would not affect the watch's accuracy over time (gain or loss of time).
Kenneth could you (and any other Seamaster Prof. Chron. owner) please tell me whether or not your watch lines up exactly like this. I would REALLY appreciate your help as perhaps my new watch is flawed (and yes it was purchased from an authorized dealer).
Thanks so much!
Jeff
