I would look into the Oris Diver, Fortis pilot, Limes (steven walker on Timezone, EOT is the rep). Good automatic, waterproof watches for $500 or less. Regardless of what all the WIS cognoscenti say, Tag Quartz would be a good choice for you as well. But I wouldn't go vintage, as waterproofness is an issue. Good hunting!
