All very true. I also like to know what "it" is I'm getting, serial numbers included. I guess it depends on what "item" we're talking about.

But, since I'm not planning on getting insurance on my watch (not sure what is worse really - insurance companies or a watch dealer that removes serial numbers) -- I don't mind paying less for a slightly altered version.
