Nope, the watch hasn't been subjected to any major shocks or jolts, just everyday normal wear , just as it has been for the last two years. With Christmas coming, it might be a a few days before I can get it back to a watch shop. Will keep you guys posted on the progress. Thanks for the help.
Still on the subject though, how does a watch become magnetised? It didn't go anywhere near a magnet :-) Or rather, you don't think you've been near a magnet... You could well have been near a Magnet and not even noticed it. I don't know what the TSA (Transportation Safety Agency) is runnin' these days but it wouldn't surprise me much if your watch got zapped at an Airport Security Checkpoint. Or an MRI or CAT/PET scan installation, even the magnets in the motors driving a conveyor belt could do the trick.
It's only one possibility, but it's probably the most common and the easiest to remedy.
