I agree with CajunMike on most things, but just wanted to let you know that (and granted it is a different model) I have showered with my Bond Seamaster (2531.80) and nothing has ever happened to it. In fact if you dive, or get anything on the watch it has been recommended that you rinse the watch with warm water, and that is what I shower in. As far as auto vs quartz goes, I would never spend $2000+ on a quartz...just my opinion and as far as accuracy goes, my 2531.80 loses about a second per day, but if I take it off at night and place it in a certain position (based on my Chrono certificate) then it can compensate for that second. In my opinion, mechanical is the way to go, b/c nothing compares to the feeling and sound of the mechanical ticking that goes on. Either way, you should go with what you want as it is your $$$.
