Re: Omega Seamaster Chronometer watch running too

: No, its not part of the "normal"
: experience. I would send the watch in for
: service along with an explanation of the
: issues you have had already with the watch.
: Omega might cut you some slack on the repair
: bill. Explain how you are disappointed, etc.
: about the performance of your watch,
: tactfully, of course. Truthfully, the
: caliber 1120 is slated for service every 3-5
: years, but mine is going on 5 years running
: slightly slow -6/7 seconds a day. So, what
: you are experiencing is technically not out
: of the question, but is certainly not normal
: for an Omega watch. Good luck with it. I
: believe all Omega service comes with a 1 or
: two year additional warranty, so keep that
: in mind if it starts acting up again.

: Sorry to hear of your troubles. Best of luck to
: you.

Hi Mike!

Thanks for the reply. After a few weeks from sendind my watch for a service estimate I finally got the call today. My jeweller explained that Omega will replace the crown (what is the crown exactly?) , waterproof seals and most importantly fix the mechanical precision of the watches timekeeping. The estimate is $495 with a 1 year warranty with Omega so Id have to keep my eye on it and make it doesnt mess up again. I told them to go ahead... its ashame to see my watch to work properly.

What do you think about the estimate?

Thanks,
John
