The Century was produced for a number of markets in Europe, US and Canada. Your century, having a Star Watch Case was one of the models that was produced in the US for the Norman Morris Corporation, Omegas US agent until 1980. The movements and dials were imported and were encased in the states.
Century came in various models of sub and centre seconds over time - some of the movements that powered these were the 283, 266, 269 and later calibres 611 and 500 series calibres. The crown should have the OMega logo.
In Canada they were comprehensively marketed by Conrad Gilbert and other jewellery stores. They imported these models from the US.
In Europe a version of the cal 283 with case 2864 was marketed both as a Century under the Tresor collection. The norman Morris case numbers however are not featured in the Omega database and so theyre difficult to authenticate.
Does yours have the Century lettering in italics or is it normal?

: I have a 1950's Omega Century watch. Apparently this model was only
: produced for the Canadian Market. it has a black textured dial
: marked Omega Century. It has a 17 jewel manual wind movement
: marked Omega. The case and caseback are 10kt gold filled. The
: caseback is signed Star Case Co and the crown is unsigned. I am
: wondering if this case and crown are original or if it has been
: recased. I found anotherone on the internet that is identical
: and has the identical markings. Could it be that because these
: were produced for the canadian market, the numbers produced
: would be smaller so they farmed out the case and crown to
: another Company?
