I have a quick question for you guys - more aimed at any UK residents, but glad for any input.
The quote returned for servicing is quite a bit steeper than I was hoping - £290 for full service (including crown and glass replacement), £71 for replacement of 'rusty parts' and £110 for dial restoration. This is on a 1969 Automatic Connie (the one I posted about 3 years ago, ref ST 168.0044?).
The other Omega I sent off (a 1963 Constellation Automatic - ST 168.0010? - but without the date. Maybe CK14381) has been quoted £310 for a full service (including crown and glass replacement). I only spent £450 procuring the watch 2 years ago.
In total, the two would cost me just shy of £800 to have 'done'. Does this amount sound about right, or are they trying it on? When I told the missus, she gave me the 'Oh no you don't' look... Should I try to negotiate the price, or am I being cheap (I was expecting up to £500 for the pair, tbh)?
Grateful for any input you knowlegeable lot might be able to chuck my way. Thanks in advance.
