I faced the very same dilemma as yourself. I actually had the Ti on order, but decided on the steel instead. I like the brighter finish of the stainless better than the duller finish that is indicative of Ti. Also, I learned that although Ti is stronger than steel, it scratches easier.
I have now owned my chrono for about 2 weeks, and I just love it. It's a daily wearer and has withstood reguluar bumps and scrapes without any noticeable damage. Clasp scratches buff out easily.
If you worry about the look of the watch over time, and the weight of the watch is not concern, I highly recommend stainless steel over Ti.
