I like the Black.........
In Response To: New Black SMP or 2531.80 Bond? ()

I prefer the Sword Hands, the Large Markers, the Black Date Background with the White Date Numbers. I also prefer the bolder numbers on the bezel. The Luminescense of the Sword Hands and the Large Markers can't be matched, though I think the skeleton hands are appropriate for the Chronograph.

I also think Omega improved on some of the details. Look at the difference in the date windows between the two models. Aside from the black background / white number date window, the aperture is better detailed. It has a "matte cut" chamfer which gives it a three dimensional quality. The blue dial date looks flat in comparison. It also has no white frame around the aperture. Notice the wave design stops at the minute markers rather than extending all the way to the inside of the case. In my opinion, all these factors are evidence of an increase in quality of design and execution. I think it shows increased restraint and attention to detail.

I have no particular preference for which bracelet is best. I think arguments for both can be made. I have the older "Bond" syle bracelet on my SeMP America's Cup and I like it. I also have a Speedmaster Pro on a bracelet which the new Seamaster Pro bracelet is similar to. I like it as well and think the argument can be made that it looks better on the black/black model.
