Seeking Opinions....
Hello fellow Omegans,
I bought a new Seamaster Pro #2455.50, 2 tone, 3 months ago, and have enjoyed this forum since I started looking for my first real watch....@ November. I have learned a great deal about watches from this forum, and look forward to every post.
The watch has been running great, at +2 seconds/day, but leaving it crown right overnight, it looses 2 seconds. The date changes 3 seconds to midnight. Performance wise, this watch is perfect.
I have the new dial face with the sword hands, and there is a small "dent" in the superluminova, on the minute hand. It is hardly noticeable under normal conditions, but after being exposed to bright lights, or coming indoors from the outside.....the small "dent" appears as a black dot. I thought I could live with this defect, but every time I look at my watch after it has been exposed to light, all I see is the black dot on the minute hand.
My question to you is: Should I change the minute hand while the watch is still under warranty? I hate the thought of someone opening the caseback of my new watch. How easy is it to change the minute hand, without damaging the dial, second hand, and the hour hand. I would hate to change the minute hand, only to find a small scratch on the dial or figerprints, lint, or something???
What has your experience been with watch services?
Is it better to leave this alone?
Thanks again for all the great information provided on this forum!
