I have two tuning fork watches and love them both. They date from the early 70's and are great timekeepers and look fine on the wrist. The general rule is that their accuracy falls between modern day quartz watches and mechanical movements. Although they were designed to run on lower voltage mercury batteries, the movement compensates for the voltage difference, although the hum is slightly louder. At least one repair shop on the web insists that some sort of voltage reduction is needed, but others say it is not necessary. In either case the movement should have regular service by someone experienced in tuning fork movements. As I understand it, the movement used in the Omega is based on the Accutron, but much improved. If you like the watch and it works, go for it!
