I don't think that there's anything wrong with wearing a 1500$ watch everyday. Just compare this to the price of a new car, a PC or a PDA, and suddenly the price for your new Omega doesn't seem so far over the top anymore. And think about how long the Omega is going to outlast the other three examples. The watch is still going to go be with you, when the others (I'm NOT talking about the fiancee here!!!) have long been replaced.

As for the scratches, well, you'll have to learn to live with them, although I don't think that they should become a serious problem as long as you don't wear the watch for construction work or anything similar. ;-) I take my Seamaster off when I'm fixing something around the house, better safe than sorry.
