Non-magnetic Omega

Hi - I own a '70's Seamaster DeVille, which I love. The single problem is that I work with magnets, and the watch seems to get magnetised very easily. Even in fields as low as 10 Gauss, I suspect. Pragmatically, I could leave the watch at home, or I could buy a new one.

Is there any knowledge on this subject when it comes to modern movements? Would the obvious choice be a quartz movement over a mechanical one? (No, co-axials are too expensive!) I haven't looked closely at new models, but suspect it might be a Seamaster with a white dial. I'm not a diver!

As an aside, is there a "good time" (i.e., sale) to buy an Omega in the UK? Costs are high and jewellers I've visited have little stock but are happiest to sell you a watch from the catalogue. No way!
