I also agree. It seems that my Seamaster is one of the "older" ones mentioned (purchased in 4/97 from an Authorized Dealer in Minnesota) and as I noted it has the star. I wonder if it could just be that they used more than one supplier for the cases at one time and this is how they identified the manufacturer. If it were true they had a problem with the early cases, which I don't recall hearing about, I would think they would have used a less obvious way to identify the new production. They could have just went by serial numbers later than a certain series, had a different case. It would be interesting though to find out if some of the people who have said they had a water leakage problem with their Seamaster had one with a star or not. I am sure the star means something to Omega, I just don't think it means anything important. Just my 2 cents. Steve
