Re: Which is Better?
In Response To: Re: Which is Better? ()

I said to a fellow watch collector friend of mine recently that the Omega Seamaster was "the thinking man's Submariner". He looked at me like I had just landed from Mars. I think the Omega is a comparable watch to the Rolex Sub or SeaDweller. You gotta remember the Submariner design came out in 1954 and every other dive watch will always be compared to it. And yes, the SeaDweller goes down to 4000 feet, but very few divers will go that far down.
A Submariner here in Australia retails for around $8,300AUD and the Seamaster is $3100AUD. Both watches are Chronometers, both watches go down to 300m. After that, it really becomes a matter of which one you prefer the look of. And even though the Pierce Brosnan Bond films have helped sell the Seamaster, I think that there are too many Submariners and SeaDwellers on wrists around the world.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Sub, but it's not worth the price it sells for brand new.
