Re: why red seal?
In Response To: why red seal? ()

: I've got two questions according to the red
: seal some (or perhaps most) omega's have (to
: show the back has not been removed since
: leaving the factory): 1. Does anyone know
: why not every omega has the red seal (why or
: what's the difference)?
: 2. On what characteristics does Omega
: discriminate?

: tnx and greetz

I contacted my dealer about this and his explenation was that only chronometers are sealed. So now we only need to find out if there are omega chronometers with pressure fitted backs......The search continues

new question: How can I be sure my new bought omega (no seal <--> pressure fitted back) isn't opened since leaving the factory? or isn't that garanteed?

ps. My hypothese is that chronometers don't have pressure fitted backs. This would be an logical explenation

tnx for the reply so far

greetz,

Erik
