Re: Uneven Coating Of Super-Luminova

Finally somebody with good eyes like mine ;-).
Yes, I am as picky when it comes to high quality and I don't mind to tell Omega their flaws right into their face, although I love my and my girlfriend's SM. I am just straight forward, well, honest.

Yes, the marks you see are probably from the tools used for placing the sword hands on the center spindle (is this the right term ?). Those tools hold the hands as I would assume for placing the hands horizontally correct.

I got my hands once exchanged during warranty, since I complained. After some time and superlumina sun-wear the marks came back as well on the new hands. Omega fans simply have to admit that these kind of flaws cannot be found in Rolex watches, but then again some Omega SMs are cheaper, half the price, than a Rolex SUB, mine was just a little cheaper, close to a Sub (150th SM).

To be honest, I am personally a little disappointed as well as on around 3-5 other points. I guess you can't have it all. Wonder when Omega finds the path back to the meaning of their name ???. Ups, hope this wasn't too straight forward ;-).

Cheers,
Andreas

: I don't know if anyone here have observed
: uneven
: coating of the Super-Luminova on the
: "sword shape"
: minute and hour hands of new SMP's.
: Mine have, you can only see it on somewhat dark
: room. The coating is fine under daylight, you
: cannot see quality problems even under 10x
: magnifying glass.
: But under semi-dark room, there is a dark area
: in the minute hand, which I believe the coating
: to be too thin. This appears on the center
: portion
: of the minute hand. Hour hand also suffers a
: little portion of dark areas.
