Re: What do you think of the new eBay changes ?

:
: Hi guys,

: I'm sure many of you use eBay, either to buy or
: research.

: Recently eBay have started to hide the
: identities of bidders. IMHO this is a double
: edged sword.

: 1, You don't know who you are bidding against
: & so could be bidding against a
: "friend" or someone you know.

: 2, Hiding bidders identities reduces the number
: of fake 2nd chance offers.

: 3, You can't contact bidders with genuine Info
: that you might have. (before or after the
: auction end)

: 4, It COULD be more difficult to see if someone
: is bidding on their own auctions ( using
: another eBay ID ). I say COULD here, because
: actually the info shown is quite useful, if
: you see a bidder who has say over 70% of his
: bids against the same seller, you can be
: pretty sure.

: What do YOU think of the new system.

: BTW. in German eBay ( eBay.de ) you can still
: see the bidders names...

Yes ebay have made a mistake , with not being able
to contact buyers for some advice on fake watchers
and so forth.
