Regarding scratched crystals: 6 years ago my wife and her mother were in London. My wife was on a mission to bring me home an Omega - my favourite brand - as a reward for keeping the home fires burning. Anyway, my MIL ended up buying me a 'Moonwatch' Speedmaster, which remains my prized watch to this day. I felt badly about all my snide comments over the years, to say the least. Back home in Vancouver, my buddy's jeweller friend adjusted the bracelet, but in doing so gouged the crystal at the 5 o'clock marker. That mark remains to this day, but does not diminish the watch's value to me one iota.
