Interesting. Do you think the seller might have gotten more if he had "parted it out."
I wouldn't have been surprised if this watch, with a rough but legit 321 movement and case and a nice dials, even with the franken hands and (probably) franken bezel, fetched close to $2k on a nice black strap. Especially because NOS replacement parts are cheap and easy to get.
some sexy pics, $100 invested in a crystal and bezel, and a $30 strap, and some provocative copy about the moon landing and it's off to the races.
Sold separately the 7912 bracelet (which only makes the watch seem more Franken in this listing with the odd end pieces) would have brought some nice change too. (Got a guess? I really haven't followed the pricing on these.)
