Re: servicing omega
In Response To: servicing omega ()

: Can any tell me about Omega service. I am
: looking at a buying my 1st omega OP but also
: am looking at Rolex subs. With Rolex when
: you send it in you get the watch cleaned and
: tuned and all polished up like it was new
: before it is sent back. It is also sent back
: with a 1 year warranty.

: Does Omega do this? or do they just clean the
: watch inside and send it back no polishing
: of the braclet or case and with no warranty?

Yes, Omega (non-US) repair centers have been highly acclaimed for their servicing. They re haul the movement and re-polish the bracelet and case. For a list of what they do with your $300 (it would cost a lot more to service a Rolex) go to: http://www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=343.

: Please help

: Are Omegas really a good watch and Rolex is
: just over priced.

That's the general idea. Omega and Rolex are extreme competitors and lately Omega seems to be pounding on the Rolex door even harder now. They are almost regarded as equals...... With Omega being a lot cheaper though.

: Please help it is my Birthday and I want to go
: get one of these watches today.

Well.... Happy Birthday! Please inform us of your decision!

: Thanks
